37. Too shy
August 11, 2009
One of the most common rebuttals is that an Owner or business professional is too shy or that it’s not their style to brag. Too often being comfortably is biggest problem.
Professionals rationalize that they don’t have to put themselves out on the Web for one reason or another. Business people often have locked their opinions about how business is done and resist evolving.
I’ll agree with these hardliners that if your base of consumers is solid and sales are good it may be hard to see. If you are established and customers are finding your company offline and it’s hard to argue with an approach that has worked for years.
The argument to develop your online tactics may not hit everyone the same way or the same time, but you should be aware and continue to ask yourself when online marketing is going to have an impact on your bottom-line.
Change is universally difficult. However, you don’t have to look too far into the future to envision what will happen when online activity shapes your offline sales.
