PURPOSE: Technorati measures the popularity of your blog.

SELLING POINTS: Technorati is a popular blog directory service. As a member you can claim your blogs, and create a personal Technorati profile, and readers from around the web will be able to find what you’ve written.

DIRECTIONS:

1. Go to http://technorati.com/
2. In the header, to the right of the search box, click the “Join” link
3. On the “Join us for free!” page, enter your first name and last name
4. Enter a member name
5. Enter your email and confirm your email
6. Enter your password and confirm your password
7. Enter the verification words
8. If you agree to the privacy policy and terms of use, click the box next to “I agree…”
9. If you have a blog, click the box next to “I have a blog and…”
10. Click the “Join” button
11. Leave the browser window open and check your mail application
12. Open the email with the subject line “Welcome to Technorati!”
13. In the body of the email, click the link to verify your email
14. On the “My Account/ Claim Blog” page, enter the URL of your blogNote: You may need to include “http://” prior to your domain name.
15. Click the “Begin Claim” buttonNote: You can complete your claim by using OpenID or writing a post.
16. On the My Account page, complete your claim using OpenID by clicking the “Complete Claim with OpenID” button.
17. Note: On the WordPress page, you will be prompted with the question, Trust this site with your identity?
18. On the WordPress page, click the “Yes, just this time” button
19. Congrats! You have successfully claimed your blog
